The name

Frances Oldham Kelsey, an FDA medical officer, refused to approve the US application for thalidomide, despite constant pressure from the company, because the evidence was inadequate.[1] The application was for the brand Kevadon, and her review prevented its approval; FDA approved thalidomide for a different use in 1998.[2] More on the About page.
